ARC Book Review: Crashed Out (a Made in Jersey novel) by Tessa Bailey

About the Book:

His inspiration. His torment. And his temptation…

Jasmine Taveras is the reason Sarge Purcell grabbed his six-string and bailed the hell out of New Jersey four years ago. She’s the fuel for every song he’s ever written—each one laced with bitter, hard-edged, hungry lust. Now, with his hugely successful band on temporary hiatus, Sarge is determined to prove to Jasmine that this “kid” turned into every inch the man she’s always needed…

Men are slim pickings for a single factory girl in Hook, New Jersey…until tall, broad-shouldered hotness walks—or rather storms—into Jasmine’s life. Sarge’s return shouldn’t affect her this way. He’s her best friend’s much younger kid brother, and the kind of rough, gritty, sexiness Jasmine has no right to taste for herself. Even if he lets her.

But lust is a blinding, insatiable force. And when it crashes, it will take both Sarge and Jasmine down with it…

My Review:

Crashed Out is the first book in Tessa Bailey's new Made in Jersey series and the story is Amazing! Simply Amazing!

Sarge is the younger brother of Jasmine's best friend. He fled their small town at the age of 18 and became a very successful, highly sought after rock star. His reason for leaving is that the one woman he loves more than anything thinks of him as a kid. When he comes back into town, Sarge doesn't realize the mess that's there, between his sister and niece, and Jasmine.

When Sarge isn't able to stay with his sister while he's back in his hometown, he ends of crashing in the one place that is going to kill him. He's determined to let his new housemate know exactly what she does to him, regardless the consequences.

Jasmine can't believe that Sarge is back in town and he does NOT look anything like the boy that left four years ago. Helping out his sister, Jasmine agrees to let Sarge crash at her house for the short time he's in town. Unfortunately, his overwhelming and totally arousing self invades her every pore. She doesn't want to think of her best friend's brother this way, but he's making it increasingly difficult to not blur those lines.

Crashed Out is full of temptations around every corner. There are hot, sexy moments, and emotional moments that will take your breath away. The relationship between Sarge and his sister is tense and something that definitely needs work. The chemistry between Sarge and Jasmine is explosive. The tension is so thick and undeniable that you're on the edge of your seat waiting for Sarge to put a chink in Jasmine's armor. Jasmine wars between Sarge being her best friend's "kid" brother, him being 7 years younger than her, him achieving the dream she always wanted, and the two of them actually having a meaningful relationship.

The story is fluid and flows along nicely from start to finish. There aren't any slow sections or any sections that zip by leaving you unsatisfied. The interactions between Sarge and Jasmine are authentic and the build up to the HEA kept me on the edge of my seat. I was wholly engaged in the story and read it in one sitting.
