Laurie Olerich, Author of Dark Urban Fantasy Romance Novel ~ DARKNESS CALLING (Primani #5) Stops By Saph's Blog to Chat About Fun Facts in the Primami World #Giveaway

Please welcome Laurie Olerich to Saph's Book Blog today!!

Darkness Calling is the fifth book in the Primani Series. It’s a standalone title that tells the story of two core characters: Sean and Aisling. Readers have been demanding to know what happened in their pasts to make them so intense, and well, dickish, so here it is in all its dark and disturbing glory. Sean fans will be thrilled to see him up close and personal... and naked again! He’s been clothed for the past two books! These two Primani have one thing that bonds them: their son. They may not be able to stand each other, but they will do whatever it takes to keep their boy alive. If those sparks aren’t enough to keep you glued to the pages, throw in Aisling’s overly possessive demon ex, Raphael’s cryptic mission to Vienna, and a supernatural showdown in the catacombs underneath Rome, and you’ll need to call in sick to finish this book!

Fun Facts about the Primani World!

1. The word “primani” is Latin for soldiers of the first legion. My Primani are just that: Elite warriors whose mission is to keep the balance of good and evil on earth while they wait for Armageddon. They exist to give humans a fighting chance against demons and their chaos and destruction. They also get tasked to protect certain humans, like Mica and Rori, who have a role to play in the future.

2. Primani are immortal. They were once purely human super soldiers in their own time…whether Celts in Ireland or with Genghis Khan in Asia, they were a cut above the rest: lethal, ruthless, intelligent, and psychic. Each was handpicked by an archangel to become Primani. Raphael is Sean, Killian, and Declan’s maker. Gabriel is Aisling, Dimitri, and Alexandyr’s maker. As far as makers go, Raphael is phenomenal; Gabriel’s kind of a douche.

3. The word “saol” means life. Their saol is their energy core, the source of their powers, the source of their supernatural weapons. Golden, liquid, and transferable, it’s sort of like an internal halo. It’s also useful for, uh, more delicate activities.

4. All Primani have psychic powers. Most had them while they were human though some were granted when they were made. Telepathy, teleporting, telekinesis are just a few. Many have healing abilities, mindreading skills, and premonitions. Killian is unique in this world. He is the last of a powerful line of priests that died out before the Bronze Age. Yes, he’s that old. His extraordinary powers come from his ancestors, and he keeps them tightly leashed most of the time. Killian is the only one who can cross over astral planes, control lightning, and communicate with the ancient Gods in his temple.  His story is told in Stone Angels.

5. Primani are bi-, tri-, quad-lingual. After all, they’ve been around a while. They tend to speak English since they’re living in America, but slip into Gaelic, Latin, Greek, and assorted dead languages when they’re frustrated or especially pissed off.

About Darkness Calling:

ad infinitum: endlessly, forever, without limit

Finally freed from a century in purgatory, former-wild child Aisling just wants to raise her son and live as a normal human again. Her taste of freedom is cut short the moment her past comes to claim her. There’s one reason she was exiled, and his name is Cain. With him, there was only darkness, and the angels help her, she liked it that way. Now he’s back, and his commands are simple. Stay away from Sean or else. But when he threatens to take her son, she turns to the one man who can save them both. Sean.

Sean is sick and tired of his baby mama’s hateful attitude. Her mood swings give him whiplash, and he’s seriously thinking of strangling her. But when a brutal old enemy shows up to destroy everyone Sean loves, he discovers Aisling is hiding more than her feelings for him.

Joining forces to protect their son, Sean and Aisling set out on a journey that leads them from the city streets of Manhattan to the elegant hotels of Vienna to the final terrifying showdown in the bowels of Rome.
