About Diamond Rings are Deadly Things by Rachelle J. Christensen:

Adrielle Pyper knows how to plan a wedding, and she is especially good at pleasing bridezillas. But when her biggest client and best friend is murdered just three days before the wedding, Adri’s world falls apart. She moves to the resort town of Sun Valley, Idaho, and starts from scratch. Thanks to Adri’s impeccable taste and unique style, she lands two celebrity clients, and her business seems headed for success–that is, until someone vandalizes the specialty wedding dresses she imported from overseas. The race is on to uncover a secret hidden within the yards of satin and lace before Adri becomes the next victim. With a delightful blend of mystery, toe-curling kisses, humor, and spine-tingling thrills, Diamond Rings are Deadly Things is a romantic suspense novel that will keep you turning pages long into the night.

My Review:

Adrielle Pyper (Adri) is owner of Adreielle Pyper's Dream Weddings and blogger (along with her mother) behind www.mashedpotatoesandcrafts.com, currently residing in Sun Valley, Idaho. Idaho is her hometown, and her recent move back from San Francisco was the result of her best friend's murder and Adri's inability to remain in California due to the stress.

Adri, along with her assistant, Lorea, just moved from being just a wedding planner to becoming a wedding planner and designer dress shop. This is a new adventure for them both and the excitement leaks from the pages. The reader will become just as nervous as Adri and Lorea are as the first group of expensive, designer gowns are delivered.  When things don't go according to plan, panic sets in and the bridezilla in one of their famous customers.  Things then go from bad to worse when Adri inspects one of the gowns and discovers that it comes with an extra added bonus that puts her life and the lives of her friends and family in danger.

While navigating the new world of designer wedding gowns, high profile clients, and surprises in the dresses, Adri's shop is also vandalized.  Some of the very expensive gowns disappear and the wedding is coming up fast and now Adri and Lorea have to figure out how to appease the starlet that is making theirs lives hard.

Amid all of the chaos, Adri finds herself in the sights of two very different men.  This theme to the novel is excellently threaded so as to no overshadow the mystery of the novel.  I enjoyed the cat-and-mouse game that the author played between Adri and the suspect.  The end was fantastic and sewed up everything from her life in San Francisco all the way to the theft of the dresses with a huge shock that became a very serious thread on her life.

I enjoyed this novel very much.  It is very fast paced and entertaining.  The main character, Adri, is down to earth and written in a way that exudes her love for what she does.  The sparks between her and Luke (who is awesome, by the way) are undeniable, just as her lackluster feelings for Dallas are.  She's full of passion and spunk, and is easy to relate to as she runs the gauntlet of many emotions during every aspect of the book.

I highly recommend this novel.  It is a true cozy mystery and suitable for anyone.
