(A Josie Hawk Companion Novella)
A Vampire with a soul. A Huntress with a knife.
In Nashville, Blood equals Power. Will one taste of Josie Hawk cost Keller everything?
Location: Nashville, TN
downtown Nashville and we were on our way to Hard Rock Cafe.
I have an unhealthy obsession with shooters and collect them
from just about everywhere we go ~ and we don't drink so, go figure.)
Vampire Keller O'Leary has only stepped foot in Nashville for two reasons:
1). His sister, Sage, sent him a personal invitation;
2). There is powerful blood flowing through the veins in Nashville.
Only, there's a female force to be reckoned with inside this town. After partaking in his evening "meal" and depositing her at the local hospital for treatment, he's assaulted. His attacker is female, knows he is a vampire, and orders him to leave the city....Immediately. There's just one problem: he may have quite possibly located his one and only true mate. Okay ~ actually there are a couple of problems ~ The second being the identity of his true mate.
This is a well written novella that pulled me into the world of Josie Hawk and won't let go. I immediately added Crimson Beat and Indigo Dawn to my TBR shelf on Goodreads (see links below to add them to yours!) Josie is a Huntress and she has no problem exerting her badassery. She's intolerant of evil and bends over backwards (forward, inside, outside, or upside down if need be) to protect her humans.
There is a certain amount of undeniable chemistry between Keller and his mate. When Keller actually realizes what (or who) he's finally found, his lost sense of humanity slowly starts to rebuilt itself. Josie is a tough, sarcastic hero but her love for the human population of Nashville is undeniable, making her a very strong and likable character. Part of the novella is told from Keller's POV and part is told from Josie's POV. This gives the novella a uniqueness that allows both characters to shine without dimming the star power of the other. I can't wait to see where the author takes us in the next novella and full-length novel.

As a full time singer she was able to lose herself in a thousand different songs in a hundred different places. After meeting the love of her life and settling down, she yearned to find a new and fulfilling creative outlet. Overly fond of the happily ever after, she wondered what it would be like to have her own characters lead her down dark and twisted paths. The very first word on the very first page sealed her fate. She’d found a new love. She’d found her escape. Now along with weaving haunting tales about the journey to love, she’s creating cover art for authors around the world and loving every second of it. For fun, she cranks country music to take her back to her roots, and sings karaoke anytime she gets a chance.
