BLOOD OF THE DEMON, Book One, Demons of Infernum Series

Keegan lives to exact revenge on the evil demon who sired and abused him. When his father devises a plan to bring upon the apocalypse, he and his three half-brothers, inter-dimensional bounty-hunters for the Elden Council, are charged with capturing and delivering their father for punishment.

Art gallery owner Brynn Meyers has no idea that her abilities to read memories embedded in objects and drain people of their life force means she has demon ancestry. Unfortunately for Brynn, she’s also the key to raising an ancient zombie army, which puts her on every demon’s Most Wanted List.

And no one wants her more than Mammon.

Keegan must protect Brynn from his father by any means necessary, but he’ll have to learn to harness the other half of his genetics—the far deadlier, uncontrollable side—when he starts to fall for the one woman standing between him and the vengeance he so desperately seeks. The one woman he’ll never be able to resist.

Saph's Review:

Blood Of The Demon was one of the best books I've ever read.

Keenan is the son of a monster, an abusive, controlling monster. When he finds out about his father, Mammon's plan to raise an army of undead, he and his brothers must do what they can to stop him. There is a book, The  Book of the Dead, that, when in the hands of an heir of an ancient Egyptian, can call forth this army.  Mammon plans to rule the Earth with this army.  Keegan and his brothers work for Elden Council as Detainors, which are bounty hunters that can move from one dimension to the next in search of their query.

Little did Keenan realize that the heir, Brynn, in this mess would be "the one" to make him happy.  This puts a kink in the plans to kill the heir if Mammon finds the book before Keenan and his brothers do.  Keenan does his best to stay away from her but she's intoxicating.

When all Hell breaks loose, literally, Keenan must choose between saving Brynn and going against his brothers, or killing Brynn to save the billions of people on earth.

This is a wonderful book with totally likable characters.  Brynn is an owner of a family art gallery but she's more than meets the eye.  Apparently part of her Egyptian heritage has stayed in the generational line and she can touch an object and read its memories plus she can drain the life force for humans at will.  These abilities mean she's part demon.  Keegan, too, is part demon; he gets that from his father but he's also part dragon due to his father's kidnapping and rape of one of the most majestic and elusive shifters.  Keenan's brothers are also half-breeds.  Taeg is part faerie; Dagan is part siren; and Ronis is part angel.

This is a completely refreshing take on paranormal romance.  The novel started out great and just got better as it went along.  There wasn't a slow spot anywhere and the storyline just flowed so well.  It only took me a couple nights to read it because I couldn't put it down....I have a feeling my Government exam I have to take tonight might suffer because I was reading about demons instead of our country.  This book, however, is totally worth it!  The chemistry between Keegan and Brynn was realistic and both characters blended well together.  The love between Keegan and his brothers is very strong and obvious in the novel, too.

Please Note:  This book contains "adult scenes" but nothing over-the-top; a nice blending of lust, romance, and love.  There aren't any rape scenes although it is referenced (this is how Keegan and his brothers came to be).
