Synopsis From The Back Cover:

Half-vampire Cat Crawfield is now Special Agent Cat Crawfield, working for the government to rid the world of the rogue undead. She's still using everything Bones, her sexy and dangerouse ex, taught her, but when Cat is targeted for assassination, the only man who can help her is the vampire she left behind.

Being around him awakens all her emotions, from the adrenaline kick of slaying vamps side by side to the reckless passion that consumed them. But a price on her head--wanted: dead or alive--means her survival depends on teaming up with Bones. And no matter how hard she tries to keep things professional between them, she'll find that desire lasts forever...and that Bones won't let her get away again.

Saph's Review: Please note---There Are Spoilers!!!!

This is the second book in The Night Huntress series.  It is smart, sexy, and completely captivating from start to finish.  The reuniting of Cat and Bones comes early on in the novel so we don't have to wait to long for their unique chemistry to light up the pages.  And light up it does...Just as in Book 1, there's lots of action, violence, and, of course, sex.

It's been 4 years since the end of Book 1, Halfway To The Grave.  Cat is a successful Special Agent in a secret branch of Homeland Security.  She has trained a small, core group of humans (Dave, Tate, Juan, & Cooper) to fight along side her in the quest to eliminate the not-nice vampires permanently.  Cat is also hoping to be lead to the vamp who raped her mother, thus producing Cat - her father Max.  And unbeknownst to Cat, Max knows who and where she is.

When her exploits cause her to face Ian, Bones' maker, she chooses to let him escape and her decision could come back to bite her...literally.

When her friend, Denise, gets married, Bones drops back into Cat's life in the form of a groomsman for Denise's new hubby; and a scorned groomsman, and vows to never lose her again.  Her reacquaintance with Bones causes quite a stir at the agency as does knowledge of a secret that her boss, Don, had been hiding from Cat and the emerging of Cat's ex-boyfriend who proves to be more trouble that his existence is worth.

One of my new favorite vampire series' and I can't wait for Book 3.
Please Note: This book contains "adult scenes and language" along with violence.
